We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Level 3/4 Caregiver to join our team at Avon Lifecare, Christchurch. Applicants must hold a Health and Wellbeing Level 3 or 4 qualification (or equivalent). The hourly rate ranges from $26.16 (Level 3) to $28.25 (Level 4), with a minimum of 30 hours per week.
While the ability to work across a 24/7 roster is essential, we are specifically looking to fill morning shifts (7am–3pm) and afternoon shifts (3pm–11pm). Weekend work is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personal care and assistance in accordance with residents’ care plans (in a culturally safe manner) under the direction of a Registered Nurse
Observe and promptly report any changes in resident status or behaviour to the Registered Nurse or senior staff
Ensure residents' safety, privacy, dignity, and comfort at all times
Demonstrate empathy by recognising needs and offering appropriate support
Document care accurately, objectively, and in a timely manner

Requirements:
Ideally, a minimum of 6 months’ experience in caregiving, nursing, or a related Allied Health field
A Level 3 or 4 caregiving qualification, or a registered nursing qualification, along with medication competency (preferred)
A genuine commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of older people, providing care with compassion and empathy
A passion for working in aged care
Experience in dementia care is an advantage
