The role involves: -- Working closely with the Production Planner to achieve required stock levels and meet customer requirements
- Supervision of the production team; maximising productivity and ensuring customer delivery targets are achieved
- Managing inventory in an accurate and cost-effective manner
- Working closely with the Health and Safety Officer to manage H & S and environmental systems to ensure compliance and a high level of housekeeping
- Maintaining and providing leadership to the warehouse and factory teams; creating a high performing and positive culture
- Providing training and day to day direction to the production, filing and packing teams to ensure the smooth flow of orders through the factory
- Working alongside other department heads to ensure efficient and effective inter-departmental collaboration, and the overall success of the business
In return, the ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar manufacturing role (essential)
- A proven track record of gaining respect and demonstrating effective leadership; attracting, retaining, inspiring and developing a highly performing team
- A high degree of experience successfully managing inventory
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience reporting on key performance indicators relevant to the efficient and effective operation of the factory
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective planning and organising skills and a sense of urgency
- Lots of initiative and the ability to work well as part of a team as well as autonomously
- A willingness to be hands on when required to get the job done
- A history of positive working relationships, and a collaborative approach to working with other departments
- A full NZ drivers license, and ideally a fork hoist licence
- A minimum of intermediate level Microsoft Word and Excel skills. Experience using an ERP system; SAP would be an advantage.
