Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the roleThe Commissioning team is a centre of excellence in social service commissioning and contracting, ensuring services are strategically aligned, outcome-focused, and compliant.As a Commissioning Advisor, you'll play a key role in supporting strategic planning, procurement, contract management, performance monitoring, and quality assurance.
Working collaboratively across government agencies and the social sector, you'll help identify service gaps, manage risks, and drive improvements that align with SIA's investment priorities.We're excited to welcome three new advisors across different teams, and we're particularly keen to hear from people early in their careers who are ready to grow and make an impact.
One of these roles is well suited to someone with procurement experience, while the other two offer an excellent opportunity for candidates who may not have direct commissioning or procurement experience but are passionate about social investment.If you're curious, a strong critical thinker, and eager to learn in a supportive, high-performing environment — we'd love to hear from you.

He kōrero mōu | About youHold a relevant tertiary qualification and have experience in commissioning, contract or project management.Collaborate effectively, embedding a performance-focused culture, and have strong relationship skills, including working with iwi and Māori organisations.Understand commissioning methodologies, service co-design, performance-based contracting, and can apply te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in practice.Build inclusive relationships, communicate clearly, demonstrate political awareness, align with organisational goals, and manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality work under pressure.

Utu ā-tau | SalaryBand 15 Salary Range: Minimum $76,925 | Midpoint $90,500 | Maximum $108,600.Offers for this role are typically made between $76,925 and $80,000, depending on the candidate's skills and experience. Please note that we are unable to offer a salary exceeding $80,000 for this position.
