Ngā whakamārama mō te tūnga | About the opportunityWe implementedour new HR and payroll system iCHRIS at the Ministry in July 2024, and we arelooking for a person to be our in-house organisational expert in followingareas:Operationalfortnightly payrollSystemsadministrationReportingand analysisKeyresponsibilities include: End to end fortnightly processingpayroll, remit PAYE and other tax forms, KiwiSaver, ACC and similar reportingand return requirements.
Ensure deductions are correctly calculated, authorisedand paid to the appropriate external agenciesPayroll/HRISsystem support, advice and services for the organisation to ensure that allemployees receive accurate and timely Payroll/HRIS servicesSystem and/or process improvements and/orissues are consistently reviewed, identified, leading and managing theimplementation and testing of any improvements and scheduled maintenanceProviding accurate and timely peopleinformation to assist managers and senior leadership in making businessdecisionsProviding analysis, management and reporting ofquantitative and qualitative information primarily through Excel to SLT andpeople leaders, staff and the Public Service Commission.
What you'llbringStrong proven experience inthe following areas:Endto end payroll processing,Findingsolutions to technical problems, and,Dataextraction, manipulation, analysis and presentation of data in high quality,user friendly written reportsDemonstrated experience inproviding HRIS advice and support to managers, and an awareness of how theirrole contributes to an organisation achieving its outcomesDemonstrated ability to workautonomously and to successfully work to deadlines and timeframesExcellent numerical and analytical experienceand demonstrated capability in successfully applying financial and analyticalconcepts in different payroll and reporting scenario'sPrevious experience and demonstrated successfulcapability in effectively building the capability of others, including theprovision of guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to lessexperienced peopleSound interpersonal skills, and the ability toprovide a high level of customer service and build and enhance successfulrelationships with clients and stakeholders.
Proven ability to translate complex language and concepts into plainEnglish for customers and usersStrong time management and organisationalskills with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability,including the ability to identify problems, manage or mitigate risks andimplement innovative solutionsExperience to at least an intermediate levelwith Excel, (you can create and use formulas, VLOOKUPs, and pivottables)Previous experience with Chris21 would be anadvantage but is not absolutely essential.
The proven ability to learn newsystems and Tertiary qualification orequivalent relevant experience in a similar role.
