About the RoleOur team of Radiation Therapists are the core of our RT department; they use their specialised knowledge to make the impossible possible and position patients in a way that blends comfort with reproducibility. They provide specific care to patients throughout the course of treatment and education on the management of treatment related side effects.

About youPossess a wide range of radiation therapy knowledge gathered over time practicing as a radiation therapist.Self-awareness and maturity when dealing with complex situations.High level of emotional intelligence and ability to connect and communicate knowledge with people.Perform well under pressure and able to prioritise and problem solve independently.A commitment towards excellence and quality in radiation therapy technique and patient care.Registration and current practising certificate (without restrictions) as a Radiation Therapist with the New Zealand MRTB.
About the ServiceThe Waikato Regional Cancer Centre is located in the city of Hamilton, New Zealand. This unit serves a population of approximately 850,000 and has approximately 120 staff. We are comprised of an Oncology Department (which includes Radiation Therapy and Chemotherapy outpatient treatment areas), an Inpatient Ward, Palliative Care Service and a Haematology Outpatient Department.Our RT department centre is an all Varian environment (Eclipse, TrueBeam, Halcyon with Hypersight, Bravos) and delivers advanced treatment techniques, including SABR, IGRT and HyperArc SRT.Our BenefitsOur people are our strength; we have an extensive development programme and all team members are actively encouraged to extend themselves both professionally and personally.We are innovators and are always seeking to advance our techniques and patient care using the latest technology to improve our practice.
