EGL Pastoral is seeking a shepherd general to join the team on their 400ha plus intensive lamb finishing operation split across 2 properties 5 minutes apart, plus work on other grazing blocks throughout Southland. The farms are situated 20 minutes from Winton or 30 minutes from Invercargill, Primary schools 10 minutes away.

This is a new position created due to ongoing workload. The position is well suited to a person who is competent at operating machinery but also enjoys working with stock.

As a suitable candidate you will:
  • Be able to work efficiently, both in a team and unsupervised
  • Have at least 2 years of experience in the industry
  • Be keen, motivated and honest
  • Have a minimum of 2 working dogs
  • Be able to handle stock and machinery with care and respect

We can offer the right applicant the opportunity to broaden their skill set through both on and off farm training. A competitive salary will be negotiated based on experience.

Note there will be shared accommodation with one other.
