We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our Lower Hutt team.

The Role
We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our team in Woburn, Lower Hutt. This part-time role involves overnight support (sleepover shifts) for someone who lives independently and enjoys creative hobbies, social connection, and community involvement.
The person you’ll support values kindness, consistency, and building strong relationships with the people around them. Your role will be to promote their independence, respect their routines, and support them to continue living a full and connected life in their community.
This is a sleepover-only role, part-time under 64 hours per fortnight:
- Sunday (Week 1): 7:00 PM – 9:00 AM
- Tuesday (Week 2): 7:00 PM – 9:00 AM
Due to the personal care needs of the individual, this position is open to female support workers only.
About You
We’re looking for someone bubbly, creative, and actively involved in the wider Wellington community. A background or interest in autism and intellectual disability is helpful—but a willingness to learn is just as important. A passion for arts and crafts, community involvement, and strong local knowledge will make you a great fit for this role.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring strong relationship-building skills, a calm and compassionate nature, and a flexible mindset. You’ll need to follow clear routines while also being adaptable to changing needs.
Essential criteria for this role:
- Full NZ Driver's Licence
- Legal right to work in New Zealand
- Willingness to undergo criminal and Oranga Tamariki checks
- Ability to commit to sleepover shifts
Desirable:
- Valid first aid certificate
- Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, Level 3 or above
- Understanding of autism and intellectual disability
