-time 0.7 FTE 28 hours per weekSalary between $75,201 and $78,358 per annum pro-rataHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the roleThe Mental Health, Addictions and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAID) provides comprehensive assessment and treatment programmes in a range of general and specialist inpatient and community services for people with severe mental health disorders within the Otago region.
Services range from secure inpatient facilities to community-based community mental health centres.Regional services are provided for inpatient forensic services and inpatient intellectual disability services covering Southland.In this position, you will effectively contribute to the smooth running of the Director of Area Mental Health Services (DAMHS) by providing an efficient and timely administrative support function that is responsive and flexible to the changing needs of the service.This position carries a varied workload while working to strict deadlines.We are looking for someone who can handle having several things on the go at once including but not limited to:Processing of legal documentationComplete mandatory reports and dataAttending court hearings as requiredSupport the role and responsibilities of Duly Authorised Officers (DAO) and Mental Health StaffLiaise with health professionals, lawyers and court on a regular basis to ensure standards of care and treatment for clients is well maintained, including legal processesEnsure the Duly Authorised Officer (DAO) completes the legal requirements of required documentationOther tasks
