In addition, you will lead the Equity group to support students through the admissions process and advocate for equity through Te Kauae Parāoa.Additional tasks will include:developing staff and students' intercultural communication skills.Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheakoThe successful applicant will be expected to have:a tertiary-level qualification in teaching or equivalentexperience in working with equity group leaders, ideally in relation to preparation for study (or a clear and genuine interest in this work), or equivalentexcellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skillsan understanding of concepts of intercultural competenceexperience and expertise in delivering workshops, seminars or lectures to groupsa demonstrable appreciation for the importance of equity in access to education opportunitiesthe ability to manage and communicate with individuals and groups with wide-ranging viewscompetence in Microsoft Office products and, ideally, eVisionappreciation of and advocate for a Te Tiriti-led organisation.Desirable:Understanding of the Admissions processes for limited entry programmes, ideally Health Sciences Professional ProgrammesAn understanding of concepts of intercultural competenceExperience and expertise in delivering workshops, seminars or lectures to groupsFurther details/PūrokoThis is a full-time (0.8 FTE up to 1.0 FTE for the ideal candidate), fixed-term position, located in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this position.The salary for this position is Teaching and Professional Practice Fellow 1
