About the Role

Napier Community Mental Health Addiction Service (CMHA) is a specialist provider for adults and their whanau who are most severely affected by mental illness and/or addiction. We are currently seeking a registered health professional with the passion, experience, and qualification for assisting tangata whaiora facing mental health and addiction challenges.

About the Team/Service/Location

Based at Napier Health Centre, we provide assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for people experiencing mental illness and addiction, Monday to Friday, 8am5pm. Our multidisciplinary team works with Service Users and their whanau to create tailored recovery plans that set goals, support wellness, and are regularly updated.

We ensure consented, evidence-based care, supported by psychiatry, psychology, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling, support work, and cultural services through Kaitakawaenga and Po Whirinaki Maori.

About you

We welcome inquiries from registered nurses, social workers, and occupational therapists.

Key qualifications for this role include,
  • Postgraduate qualification specific to Mental Health and Addictions
  • Recent and relevant community mental health and addiction clinical experience
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Be working as a Duly Authorised Officer, or be willing to train as such
  • Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
  • Your genuine interest in contributing to the holistic development of mental health and addiction services is essential.
