Restaurant Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experiencedRestaurant Managerto lead the daily operations of our busy restaurant. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining compliance, and driving business performance.

• Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
• Recruit, train, supervise, and performance-manage front-of-house and supervisory staff
• Develop staff rosters and manage labour costs in line with budget requirements
• Ensure high standards of customer service and promptly resolve customer concerns
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and service standards in collaboration with kitchen management
• Support kitchen operations during busy service periods, including assisting with food preparation and cooking using a wok when required
• Manage inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, food safety, and liquor licensing regulations
• Implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and profitability
• Prepare reports on sales performance, staffing, and operational issues for business owners
• Assist with marketing initiatives and promotions to increase customer engagement and revenue
• Strong expertise in Vietnamese cuisine, with a deep understanding of broth preparation
• Advanced wok skills with proven mastery of high-heat cooking techniques and styles

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior restaurant management or hospitality management role
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Sound knowledge of restaurant operations, budgeting, and cost control
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Understanding of New Zealand health & safety and food safety requirements
• Relevant qualification in hospitality or business management (preferred but not essential)
• Be service-oriented, fun, friendly, reliable, honest, mature, and a good role model
• Hold or be willing to obtain a current Managers Certificate
