About the Role
We are seeking an experiencedRestaurant Managerto lead the daily operations of our busy restaurant. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining compliance, and driving business performance.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Recruit, train, supervise, and performance-manage front-of-house and supervisory staff
- Develop staff rosters and manage labour costs in line with budget requirements
- Ensure high standards of customer service and promptly resolve customer concerns
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and service standards in collaboration with kitchen management
- Support kitchen operations during busy service periods, including assisting with food preparation and cooking using a wok when required
- Manage inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, food safety, and liquor licensing regulations
- Implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and profitability
- Prepare reports on sales performance, staffing, and operational issues for business owners
- Assist with marketing initiatives and promotions to increase customer engagement and revenue
- Strong expertise in Vietnamese cuisine, with a deep understanding of broth preparation
- Advanced wok skills with proven mastery of high-heat cooking techniques and styles
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior restaurant management or hospitality management role
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Sound knowledge of restaurant operations, budgeting, and cost control
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of New Zealand health & safety and food safety requirements
- Relevant qualification in hospitality or business management (preferred but not essential)
- Be service-oriented, fun, friendly, reliable, honest, mature, and a good role model
- Hold or be willing to obtain a current Managers Certificate
