Whanganui Accident and Medical (WAM) is a subsidiary company of the Whanganui Regional Health Network (WRHN), established in 2003 to improve access to primary and after-hours healthcare for the Whanganui community. Our team works closely with local services to ensure whanau receive the right care, at the right time, in the right place.

Located alongside the Emergency Department on the Whanganui Hospital campus, WAM provides a ‘one-stop’ model of care for the community. We operate 8am–8pm, 7 days a week, including public holidays.
We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and motivated Registered Nurse to join our caring and supportive team. This position offers flexible, rostered rotating shifts with negotiable hours.
The successful applicant will:- Demonstrate strong clinical assessment skills
- Be confident using clinical and administrative IT systems
- Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork
- Hold a current annual practising certificate and ACLS Level 6 (or be committed to obtaining it)
- Be enthusiastic about continuous learning and professional development, with a clear interest in progressing toward advanced nursing practice
- Previous experience in primary care, urgent care, or emergency care settings would be an advantage, but is not essential
