Business Development Adviser

Since 2003, Sesang Trading Ltd. has been the trusted local seafood/meat retailer/wholesaler based in Auckland delivering a true nature-to-table solution to customers at home and chefs in restaurants across New Zealand.

For the past years, our business have successfully secured a noticeable sales share in Auckland seafood/meat market and we are now looking for an experienced Business Development Adviser to join us at our Wiri office to optimise our business operational strategies and identify/develop new business opportunities to accelerate our business growth and market expansion.

About the role:

A Business Development Adviser at Sesang Trading Ltd, reporting directly to the Director and Sales and Marketing Manager, is responsible for identifying opportunities and optimising marketing strategies to achieve the overall new business growth objectives.
This function includes the responsibility of prospecting and affiliating new business to Sesang Trading Ltd, monitoring revenue streams and evaluating sales, marketing, and branding strategies. The position would also represent and promote Sesang Trading Ltd at local events as needed.

The Business Development Adviser should also develop and maintain client relationships and strengthen partnerships with third parties as required. New business is the life blood of the company and sustaining sales increase through new business is paramount to achieve and exceed budgeted sales for the company.

Requirements:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required. (NZ Level 7 or above)
  • Native or professional proficiency in both English and Korean (spoken and written) is essential. Candidates must be able to conduct high-level business negotiations and manage documentation in both English and Korean.
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in business operations, retail/wholesale, or a related industry.
  • Proven expertise in Korean/Asian market analysis and strategic business expansion.
Skills and Competencies
  • Proven knowledge of business development, marketing strategies, and brand expansion
  • Exceptional ability to analyze market trends and competitor behaviour
  • Experience in identifying profitable business opportunities and potential clients
  • Ability to maintain strong client relationships and establish industry partnership
  • Competency in negotiation and closing business deals
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to travel

  • Salary: $66,000 - $70,000 per annum (Depending on experience)
  • Hours: 35 hours per week (Permanent Full-time)
  • Location: Wiri, Auckland
