Duties and Responsibilities

  • Onsite monitoring of civil construction activities
  • preparing sketches, charts, tabulations, plans for civil engineering works such as drainage and roads
  • performing and directing fieldwork and laboratory testing
  • interpreting work assignment instructions, applying appropriate procedures and selecting equipment
  • collecting and analysing data, and carrying out computations
  • estimating material costs and ensuring finished works are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions
  • inspecting civil engineering works, and organising and supervising maintenance and repair work
  • conducting field and laboratory tests of construction materials and soils, and collecting data for traffic surveys
  • Ensure Quality, health & safety aspects are completed
  • Review project specifications
  • Prepare ITP (Inspection and Testing Plans)
  • Ensure project specifications are satisfied
  • Implement contract quality plan
  • Undertake field tests such as CBR, Clegg Hammer and compile results for submission
  • Prepare as-builts for completed works
  • Providing management, coordination, and supervision of assigned projects works, undertaken by our labour or subcontractor resources
  • Monitor Productivity targets on-site
  • Prepare daily job pack for field crews
  • Review Site records done by field supervisors
  • Undertake daily review of completed works against the original programme
