Senior Draughtsperson

Our commercial department strives to deliver excellence across high-end residential and large-scale commercial projects. We are currently seeking a Senior Draughtsperson to join our growing team in Te Rapa, Hamilton. This is an in-office role with some flexibility, ideal for someone who can hit the ground running.
You will be responsible for leading drafting projects and providing technical support to both internal and external teams. Your work will be pivotal in producing high-quality shop drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting the success of fabricators and architects across a range of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft technical details and production-ready manufacturing drawings.
- Lead projects from concept to completion, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Provide technical leadership on commercial/shop drawing projects.
- Advise and resolve technical queries for window fabricators and architects.
- Support and mentor other drafters (internal and external).
- Ensure all shop drawings comply with current standards and industry best practices.
- Manage and track projects using Smartsheet (training provided).
About You:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior drafting role (essential)
- Proven expertise in facade and curtain wall detailing (essential)
- Ability to work independently, make decisions autonomously, and collaborate in a team environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential).
- Familiarity with 3D CAD tools such as SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, or Revit (advantageous).
- Strong ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy.
- A National Diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Knowledge of the NZ Building Code and relevant industry standards (advantageous).
- Background in the window and door industry, and experience with aluminium systems and weather-tightness design (definite advantage).
