Registered Nurse - Endocrine

About the Role
We are excited to advertise a role for a Registered Nurse in our supportive, expert Endocrine team. Our team is looking for an experienced and skilled nurse to work closely with our Clinical Nurse Specialist and Senior Medical Team in providing expert care to patients with a range of Endocrine disorders.If you have experience with Endocrinology, the outpatients setting and/or are keen and motivated to learn then we would love to hear from you. The Diabetes and Endocrine Service is a District service covering Capital, Coast, Hutt Valley, Kenepuru and Kapiti Health Centre and this role may be expected to work at any of these sites.
This role does require some 07:30am starts due to testing requirements.
In this role, you will deliver specialist nursing care to patients with a wide range of endocrine conditions. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Performing dynamic endocrine testing
- Administering infusions and injections
- Providing patient education, counselling, and ongoing clinical support
- Managing care for patients with thyroid, adrenal, pituitary, and bone and calcium disorders
- Booking and managing clinics
The role involves autonomous practice within scope, strong clinical judgement, and close collaboration with endocrinologists, allied health, and wider nursing teams.
About the Team/Service Location
Wellington is the regional centre for endocrinology for Central New Zealand. This RN position supports the medical and clinical nursing team in the diagnosis, treatment and education for- Thyroid dysfunction
- Pituitary disorders
- Adrenal conditions
- Bone disease osteoporosis
- Neuroendocrine tumours
- Sex hormone imbalances
- Disorders of growth development
- Gender affirming hormone therapy
About you
To be successful in this role you should have the following:
- Registered Nurse with a current APC
- At least 3 - endocrinology, outpatient, or specialty nursing preferred (or willing and motivated to learn)
- Highly organised and confident to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Phlebotomy, IV Cannulation and IV Therapy
- Proven competency with administrative tasks and clinical documentation
