Diesel Mechanic – Full Time, Permanent
Walling Contracting Ltd is looking for an experienced and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our hard-working team based in the Waikato.
This is an opportunity to work with a fleet of Volvo trucks, tractors, harvesters, and agricultural equipment in a hands-on environment where no two days are the same. You'll play a key role in keeping our machinery operating at peak performance throughout the season.
What you'll be doing; -Diagnosing, servicing and repairing Volvo trucks- Maintaining and repairing varying machinery
- Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diagnostic faults.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Working both independently and alongside our operations team.
- Experience working on Volvo trucks
- Knowledge of Agricultural Machine is a bonus.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent English and confident communicating in a New Zealand workplace environment.
- Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
- Must be willing to undergo preemployment and/or random drug testing
This role averages 45–50 hours per week during quieter periods. During our busy season (Maize and Grass Harvest), hours increase to approximately 70–80 hours per week, so flexibility and commitment is essential.
