We’re looking for capable, motivated individuals to step into three newly established leadership roles:- Silage Chopping Team Leader
- Baling Team Leader
- Cultivation & Drilling Team Leader
These are key roles within our operation, responsible for delivering quality outcomes to our clients every day. You’ll need a solid understanding of agricultural contracting, including the challenges that come with weather, gear, land, and client expectations.
Leading a small crew of Machinery Operators, you’ll ensure each job is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Whilst your main priority will be managing your team and leading from the front, you will be just as comfortable to sitting in the driver’s seat when required.Whether you’re a skilled machinery operator ready to take the next step, or an experienced team leader looking for a fresh opportunity, we’d like to hear from you. Got what it takes?
- A full NZ Class 1 driver’s license (Class 5 and/or endorsements are an advantage)
- 2+ years’ experience in a leadership or senior operator position
- Strong working knowledge of agricultural contracting operations
- Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Confidence in operating and maintaining a variety of machinery
- Good administrative skills – including job records, pre-start checks, and client updates
Each leadership role also has some specific skill requirements:
Silage Chopping Team Leader:- Experience operating forage harvesters (grass, maize, whole crop)
- Stack management and crop quality expertise
- Ability to assess crop readiness and interpret weather forecasts
- Hands-on experience with a variety of balers (square, round, combi, conventional)
- Understanding of bale density, wrapping techniques, and storage best practices
- Ability to assess crop readiness and interpret weather forecasts
- Proven skills in cultivation methods and precision drilling
- Strong knowledge of seedbed preparation and agronomy for pasture and forage crops
