We’re looking for a creative and reliable Event Decorator / Assistant to join our team for the busy summer wedding season.

A Touch of Elegance is a wedding and event decorating business based in Hawke’s Bay. We specialise in transforming venues with beautiful draping and fairy light installations, styling, and hire décor to create unforgettable celebrations. From intimate weddings to large-scale corporate events, our friendly team works closely with clients to bring their vision to life with creativity, detail, and care.

• Contract: Part-time, minimum 12 hours per week, 9am – 3pm
• Extra hours: Additional weekend hours available when required
• Term: Fixed until 31 March 2026, with the possibility of a permanent role for the right person

• Work closely with our Lead Decorator to bring weddings and events to life
• Assist with delivery, set-up and pack-down of decorations and decor
• Assist with warehouse prep, cleaning and laundering of decorations, ensuring everything looks its best
• Follow styling plans and layouts to create beautiful spaces
• Maintain Health & Safety standards and tidy work areas during set-up and pack-downs
• Occasionally liaise with venue staff or clients on-site

• A positive, can-do attitude and keen eye for detail, style and following trends
• Physically fit and comfortable with working up ladders, lifting and moving of heavy décor items
• Weekend availability is essential
• Previous hospitality, retail or event experience is a bonus — but not required, training provided
