Chinese Cook

We are looking for two full-time Cooks to join our team in Wellington. Ideal candidate must have the followings:

2 years relevant experience or level 4 or above relevant qualification.

Able to work on weekends and work overtime.

Positive attitude and ability to thrive under pressure.

Have passion for the Japanese Cuisine.

Have excellent food hygiene and safety awareness.

Ability to work independently and in a team.

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare authentic Japanese dishes with precision, adhering to traditional techniques and presentation standards.

Manage mise-en-place, including stock preparation, vegetable carving, and fish/meat portioning, ensuring consistency and quality.

Operate and maintain specialized kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

Collaborate with the Chef to develop seasonal menus, incorporating fresh local ingredients while preserving Japanese culinary integrity.

Monitor food inventory, minimize waste, and uphold strict food safety protocols.

Train junior kitchen staff in Japanese cooking methods, knife skills, and plating aesthetics.

Order supplies, monitor temperature, and adhere to health and hygiene regulations.
