Breakdown Service Technician –Roadside Assistance

About the Role

We are a busy, well-established 24/7 breakdown and roadside assistance service seeking a reliable Breakdown Service Technician to join our team. This role involves responding to callouts at all hours, assisting stranded motorists, and providing professional, calm, and efficient roadside support.

No two days are the same. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role suited to someone who works well under pressure and enjoys helping people.

• Respond to roadside breakdown and assistance callouts
• Jump-start vehicles, change tyres, assist with lockouts, fuel delivery, and minor roadside repairs
• Assess vehicles and determine the safest course of action
• Provide excellent customer service during stressful situations
• Communicate clearly with dispatch and office staff
• Complete job sheets and paperwork accurately
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment
• Follow all health and safety procedures

• On-call and shift work required
• Flexibility is essential

• Full clean NZ Driver Licence
• Qualified Mechanic or someone with Mechanical knowledge preferred (training provided)
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Calm under pressure with good problem-solving skills
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
