I have been a proprietor of the Featherston for the last 20 years and I’m looking for a senior hospitality professional to be my right -hand man(or woman).I’m not going to quote all the usual stuff (BS) you see in ads like this (be committed, passionate etc etc)because your CV will show that you know that working in hospitality is not a job it’s a way of life
ABOUT US: great regulars, solid banter, good beer (including a great selection of the good stuff from Belgium) and a team that know what they are doing (most of the time). We’re not a nightclub; we’re not fine dining -we’re that sweet spot where people actually want to hang out
ABOUT YOU: You’ve done this before, you know how to run a shift, handle a rush, and keep both the customers and staff on side. You can lead without being a tyrant and laugh when things inevitability go sideways. You will be able to get the best out of a young team by imparting your knowledge so that we are better by miles than our competitors.
You will love being involved/organizing in house promotions and have an extensive knowledge of all things social media cause I’m not great at that! (The social media bit!) So, if the idea of posting food pics and making the pub look as good online as it feels in real life pushes your button-we need to talk.
You will be the person that I totally trust to step into my shoes when I’m not there (which isn’t often) so we really need to get on really well .I’ve been known to get a bit grumpy when I see waste and our guest aren’t being looked after so you will be allowed to do that as well.
SO, WHATS IN IT FOR YOU: Not many late nights, (we value sleep and sanity) a decent salary , gaining further skills and training from my extensive experience, so that when comes time for you to move on won't believe how much you have learnt.But most of all you will have the chance to actually have a say in how thing run.
THE REALITY: It’ll be busy, it’ll be loud. Some days will really test you, but most days will be good fun- you’ll be working with people who give a damn.
