We are looking for an experienced and reliable person to join our school kitchen team to support our in-school lunches model.
This role will also support the Kitchen Manager with administration tasks, including ordering bulk food from a variety of vendors, keeping accurate records, and supporting reporting requirements for the Ministry of Education.
We are looking for someone who is organised, calm under pressure, able to work as part of a team, and committed to providing quality kai for our akonga each day.
The successful applicant will have commercial cooking or kitchen experience, preferably in a restaurant or large-scale food preparation setting. They will understand food preparation, portion sizes, kitchen systems, food safety, and the importance of preparing healthy, consistent meals for tamariki.
Required: Basic Food Safety and Handling requirement standards NZQA 167 and 168
Completion of Practical and Professional Cookery Eql 4 or Minimum 2 years training at an institute of food and hospitality industry, including London City and Guilds.This role will also support the Kitchen Manager with administration tasks, including ordering bulk food from a variety of vendors, keeping accurate records, and supporting reporting requirements for the Ministry of Education.

Experience with bulk food preparation, school lunches, catering, ordering systems, and administration would be an advantage.
