Qualified Joiner – Kitchen & Custom Cabinetry

Sunshine Joinery Ltd has been proudly serving the Hawke's Bay region for over 20 years, delivering premium custom kitchens, bathrooms, wardrobes, and bespoke commercial fit-outs. We are a close-knit, quality-driven team that takes genuine pride in every project we produce — from the first design consultation through to the final installation.

Every cabinet we build is crafted specifically for the job.

We are looking for a fully qualified, experienced Joiner to join our skilled workshop team. This is a hands-on role spanning both the manufacture of bespoke cabinetry in our local Hawke's Bay workshop and the on-site installation of custom kitchens for residential and commercial clients.

You will work closely with our in-house design team, ensuring every project transitions seamlessly from concept through to a finished installation. You will play a key part in upholding the high standards of craftsmanship and care that define everything Sunshine Joinery Ltd delivers.

What You'll Bring & What You'll Do:
  • Hold a New Zealand Trade Certificate in Joinery (or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Manufacture custom kitchen cabinetry to bespoke client specifications, with a high personal standard of finish and attention to detail.
  • Carry out on-site kitchen installations confidently, efficiently, and to a professional standard.
  • Read and work accurately from detailed technical drawings and bespoke plans.
  • Operate and maintain workshop tools and machinery safely, correctly, and with care.
  • Uphold health and safety best practices in the workshop and on-site — leading by example.
  • Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards at all times.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team, bringing reliability and a positive work ethic every day.
  • Hold a full, clean New Zealand driver's licence.
  • Hold NZ Residency or a valid NZ work visa (you must have the right to work in New Zealand).
What Would Set You Apart:
  • Experience mentoring and supervising an apprentice.
  • Familiarity with commercial joinery and fit-out projects.
  • A methodical, task-driven approach to your work — you're organised, solutions-focused, and the kind of person who brings calm and positivity to a busy workshop.
