Senior Interior Designer
Auckland
This role requires strong design, technical and project delivery capability across commercial, hospitality and residential projects. The successful candidate will lead projects from concept through to completion, managing client relationships and contributing to the strategic and creative direction of the business.
This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of detail, technical accuracy, and design excellence, working closely with clients, consultants, and suppliers to ensure design intent is achieved.
The role involves delivering interior design and procurement outcomes for hospitality projects, including hotel developments across New Zealand and Fiji.
A key focus is space planning and the development while ensuring alignment between design intent, budget, and procurement delivery.This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of detail, technical accuracy, and design excellence, working closely with clients, consultants, and suppliers to ensure design intent is achieved.
Due to the nature of our projects and client base, experience across diverse international markets and project environments is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:- Lead interior design projects from concept through to completion
- Develop and present design concepts, mood boards, and space planning solutions
- Plan, design, and detail interior environments in line with project requirements and functional needs
- Prepare detailed drawing packages including layouts, joinery details, specifications and schedules
- Produce accurate project costings, pricing, and budget estimates
- Specify and procure FF&E and OS&E.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure successful delivery of projects
- Conduct site visits and oversee installations to ensure design intent is executed correctly
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining deadlines, budgets, and quality standards
- Mentor and guide junior designers within the team
- Support marketing initiatives including social media, website content, and design collateral (including platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and ArchiPro)
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and global supplier networks
- Collaborate with and support the Director and wider team, including coordination with the Office Manager
- Assist with procurement processes including purchase orders, invoicing, and supplier coordination using systems such as WorkflowMax and Fohlio
- Assist with setting up and maintaining supplier accounts and relationships
- Maintain and organise the office materials library, ensuring samples and resources are up to date
- Proactively manage project timelines and support team coordination to ensure deadlines are met
- Travel as required for project work, including site visits and installations

Minimum Skills, Experience & Qualifications:- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant professional experience in interior design
- Proven experience delivering projects from concept through to completion
- Strong technical knowledge of construction documentation, detailing, and spatial planning
- Demonstrated expertise in FF&E and OS&E specification, procurement, and supplier coordination
- Experience working across both design and procurement phases, including supplier coordination, pricing, and installation delivery
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from architectural drawings, with a clear understanding of spatial planning requirements, building codes, and minimum dimensional standards for functionality and ergonomics
- Experience coordinating with architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure design intent is accurately integrated and delivered
- Strong understanding of joinery design, lighting design, and ergonomic principles
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), and Microsoft Excel
- Experience using WorkflowMax, Fohlio, or similar systems, with the ability to learn business-specific tools
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail

Preferred Skills & Experience:- Extensive professional experience in interior design (typically 8–10+ years)
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field (preferred)
- International experience across markets such as North America, Australasia, and island resort destinations (preferred)
- Experience in commercial, hospitality, and luxury residential sectors (preferred)
- Senior-level or leadership experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with international suppliers and current design trends (preferred)
- Experience contributing to marketing and digital content (preferred)
- Working knowledge of SketchUp and Revit for 3D modelling (advantageous)
