Te Haeata/The Opportunity The Ministry of Justice Te Tāhū o te Ture is seeking an experienced Senior Communications and Engagement Advisor to deliver end-to-end communication services across the Ministry. This role will round out and grow our busy communications delivery function.
The role will suit an experienced comms professional who moves comfortably between hands on production and execution and driving practice improvement. Experience working in a large and complex government organisation would be an advantage. You will be a strong writer/content creator who is passionate about using communications to take the Ministry's work forward with both our external and Internal stakeholders.
You will have proven experience in existing communications techniques and a desire to explore new approaches and technologies that work for our stakeholders. Your portfolio will include a mix of fast turnaround products, planning and strategising, project communications, capability development and opportunities to mentor.
Flexibility, team orientation and a big picture approach are essential. You will craft compelling content for a range of channels and audiences, so your writing skills will be second to none. In addition you will have the opportunity to lead the team's practice in the engagement space and help build our overall capability to confidently communicate and engage with Māori kaimahi, whānau, hapū and iwi.

Ō pūkenga/Skills and Experience Reporting to the Manager Communications Delivery, in the Communications and Ministerial Services team, the successful candidate will demonstrate: a minimum of 5 years' experience in communications and/or stakeholder engagement, with demonstrable experience in a senior advisory roleproven ability to develop and execute communications strategies and plans that drive stakeholder engagementexceptional writing, editing and presentation skills, with a knack for distilling complex information into clear and compelling contentexceptional relationship management skills and the ability to form strong working relationships with senior leaders and stakeholdersunderstanding of current and emerging digital communication trends and platformsan understanding of the machinery of government, and experience navigating a large or complex public sector agencyexperience, knowledge, skills and capabilities to confidently communicate and engage with Māori kaimahi, whānau, hapū and iwiexperience coaching and mentoring other communications professionals.

Utu ā-tau/Salary The appointing salary for this role will be between $98,208 and $135,539 based on skills and experience.
