Technical Sales & Inventory Manager – Tauranga

Our client, Finite Planet Ltd, trading as Apricus Eco, is an importer and distributor of environmentally sustainable hot water and heating systems. They source products from multiple countries, purchase from on shore suppliers, and distribute throughout NZ.

Customers include trade installers, homeowners, and larger organisations such as the Ministry of Education, universities, and commercial clients.

  • Objectives of the Role
  1. To provide customers (wholesale, trade, commercial and retail) with technical advice and support for choosing and purchasing products, installation and after sales assistance.
  2. To manage and implement warehouse stock management, sales order fulfilment & freight logistics
  • Position Responsibilities

This position is part of a dynamic team who all contribute to aspects of this role and responsibilities. Working collaboratively, they ensure the outlined responsibilities are fulfilled and work is appropriately completed to specified deadlines.

  • Technical Support
  • Provide a primary point of contact for electrical and refrigeration technical enquiries
  • Advise on maintenance requirements and provide post-installation technical support to customers
  • Deliver accurate, clear and comprehensive product information, addressing customer enquiries and questions
  • Provide technical support to customers (primarily trade) via phone, email, and other communication channels
  • Stay current with advancements in appropriate technology and understand how our products compare in the market, locally and internationally
  • Contribute to the development of training materials for customer support and internal teams
  • Sales & Customer Service
  • Present, advise and sell products to prospective customers
  • Maintain customer information in CRM programme (currently Pipedrive)
  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries and deliver exceptional customer service
  • Receive and process sales orders accurately and efficiently
  • Verify all order details, including pricing, discounts, and shipping information
  • Process sales orders using the inventory management system
  • Coordinate communication between customers, staff and contractors throughout the fulfilment process
  • Provide customers and team members with order status updates, shipment details, and other relevant information
  • Respond to post installation enquiries from customers and installers
  • Coordinate with finance team members regarding payment processing, terms of trade and invoicing
  • Provide cover and support for the management of sales order fulfilment processes when needed
  • Warehouse & Freight Management
  • Optimise and coordinate sales orders fulfilment processes
  • Ensure customers are notified of dispatch and provide tracking details as required
  • Follow up and resolve freight or logistics issues affecting order fulfilment
  • Organise product and warranty returns
  • Lodge claims with freight companies for items damaged in transit
  • Inventory Management
  • Contribute to forecasting and maintaining inventory levels to meet internal project requirements and external customer demand
  • Manage inventory adjustments, including coordinating returns and warranty claims
  • Oversee inventory storage requirements to ensure an efficient workspace and optimal warehouse capacity
  • Key Skills, Attributes & Experience
  • Qualified Electrician — ideally with Controls, Industrial, or Commercial experience including Refrigerant certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Forklift licence or willingness to obtain
  • Driver’s license
  • Flexible, adaptable proactive team player
  • Process driven &strong finisher who follows tasks through to completion
  • Self-starter with initiative and desire to acquire new skills & knowledge
  • Practical problem solver solver with high attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a small, rapidly growing, and evolving company
  • Confident managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Able to balance and prioritise competing demands
  • Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures & contribute to a safe working environment for staff, contractors and visitors
