The Role

Reporting directly to the Engineer Manager, this is Maintenance Engineering position, responsible for ensuring the smooth mechanical running of a high production manufacturing plant dealing with raw materials.

This is a long-standing, well-established site within a well-respected national industry leader. Your team are responsible for plant maintenance, breakdowns and improvements. You’ll work in a strong positive team culture, alongside experienced operators, contractors and machinists, helping to maintain equipment performance with high safety standards.

You will get to be apart of a growth phase of the business, as the site under goes some exciting new capital projects.

  • DUE TO location, this role is commutable from South Auckland or North Waikato. Very Handy Location!
Responsibilities
  • Working with production leaders and operators to ensure timely resolution of all mechanical breakdown issues
  • Preventative Maintenance activities including continuous improvement feedback of PM plans.
  • Identifying equipment issues and functional failure and reporting in the maintenance system.
  • Completion of scheduled engineering work orders
  • Liaise with Engineering planner for the procurement and stocking of equipment spare parts
  • Assisting the Engineering & Mill Managers with running continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience ( Min 3 years) as a Mechanical Engineer, specifically within an Industrial Manufacturing Environment.
  • Experience within Heavy or Industrial Manufacturing environments is preferred. I.E Sawmilling, Timber Processing, Pulp/Paper, Steel, Mining, Cement, Glass, Dairy, Chemical Production ect.
  • Strong knowledge & Understanding of Health & Safety within a Manufacturing Plant.
  • The ability to travel between South Auckland and North Waikato Sites (with compensation) when required would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong positive culture.
