General Farm Maintenance

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our client based on a pig farm in near Te Awamutu. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong mechanical background who can keep essential farm systems running smoothly and respond quickly when issues arise.

Pay rate: $32–$36 per hour (paid weekly)

The Role You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing key farm infrastructure and equipment to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and high standards of animal welfare.

Your duties will include:

• Maintaining and repairing feeding, watering, ventilation, and waste systems
• Servicing farm machinery, pumps, and generators
• Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults
• Carrying out building and pen repairs
• Following preventative maintenance schedules
• Responding quickly to breakdowns to protect animal welfare
• Ensuring health & safety and biosecurity compliance

• Strong mechanical background
• General welding and repair skills
• Electrical experience (a big bonus)
• Previous plumbing experience (beneficial)
• Ability to work independently and manage maintenance priorities
