Are you an experienced Kaimanaaki/Cultural Support Worker who can make acultural & safe difference to our tangata whaiora, whanau and our clinicalstaff?
We are seeking a Kaimanaaki to join the Pūrehurehu team in our maleforensic inpatient unit in Porirua.
The role involves facilitating activitiesand programmes, to support clinical staff to respond in a culturallyappropriate and safe manner and attend MDT forums and clinical reviews.

The salary range is $72,074to $86,719 depending on experience as per the Allied Health MECA.Aboutthe Team/Service/ Location Te Korowai Whāriki (TKW) is an operational groupof regional and national services that has staff based in various locations inthe Central Region, from Gisborne to Wanganui through to Wellington.

Te Korowai Whāriki services are bothinpatient and community based.

Te Korowai Whāriki consists primarily of twoarms
  • Central Regional Services and the Intellectual Disability (ID) Services The Central Regional Forensic MentalHealth Inpatient Service is based at the Rātonga-Rua-O-Porirua campus.

Withinthis service, Pūrehurehu is a dedicated space that provides support for tāne(men) who may need intensive mental health care, close observation, and a safe,secure environment as part of their healing journey.Pūrehurehu is here to offer a spacewhere people can feel safe while receiving the care and support they need.

Manyof those who stay with us have been referred through the justice system, eitherby the courts for mental health assessment and/or treatment, or from prisonwhen mental health support is needed.Our aim is to work in partnership withtāngata whaiora supporting them through their mental health challenges whilerecognising their strengths, experiences, and goals for the future.About you Sound Knowledge of Tikanga Maori and how toapply it in practise.Strong communication and interpersonal skillsadding to a positive team environment.Experience in working in mentalhealth settings.At least have or are working towards NZQA Level 4 or higher certificate orequivalent qualification.Workingat Health New Zealand HealthNew Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is
