- FINAL(tewhatuora.govt.nz) Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer ServiceProvide professional, friendly, and efficient service to patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders.Always maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.Assist patients at the front desk, check and update demographic details, and refer unwell or infirm patients to nursing staff promptly.Patient ManagementManage bookings using SI PICS and associated clinical systems in line with Waitaha Canterbury Elective Services Guidelines (Orange Book V3).Book patients by priority, ensuring compliance with
- greatest need, longest wait
- and Planned Care requirements.Enter accurate data in a timely manner and communicate booking information clearly to patients.Liaise with clinical staff regarding any booking or re-categorisation queries.Clinic & Inpatient CoordinationCoordinate surgical list utilisation with surgeons and service managers, managing cancellations through standardised processes.Schedule clinics according to templates, aiming for high utilisation and minimal cancellations.Prepare clinics and manage outcomes in line with National Patient Flow requirements.Wait List ManagementMaintain accurate and aligned surgical wait lists within SI PICS.Prioritise patients appropriately and seek clinical guidance where required.
