Wesley Community Action is seeking an experienced and skilled Housing Operations Manager to lead our housing programme. This new leadership role has been created to strengthen our ability to provide safe, affordable homes and to grow Wesley's voice in the community housing sector.

You will be responsible for shaping and delivering Wesley's housing strategy, ensuring compliance with legislation and contracts, and building strong sector partnerships. This is a leadership role and qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field, several years of management and housing-related experience and the ability to influence at both operational and strategic levels.

Our Housing Operations Manager will:
  • demonstrate leadership in housing, property management, or community housing provision
  • lead the delivery of Wesley's housing strategy
  • build strong sector relationships with MHUD, MSD and sector partners
  • oversee tenancy systems, compliance, and reporting to meet legal obligations
  • manage and support housing staff, fostering professionalism, learning, and wellbeing
  • actively contribute to housing forums, strengthening Wesley's national and regional voice.
To join our team, you will:
  • demonstrate leadership in housing, property management, or community housing provision
  • have strong knowledge of Residential Tenancies Act, Healthy Homes, and compliance
  • have experience in strategic planning, contract management, and financial oversight
  • be a skilled relationship-builder with government, sector partners, and community groups
  • hold a relevant tertiary qualification in housing, property, or social policy (essential)
  • have a full driver's license, strong computer skills, manage complex workloads effectively
