About the Role
We are seeking an experiencedQuantity Surveyorto join our commercial construction team. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in cost management, procurement, and financial control across large-scale commercial projects. This role requires proven New Zealand experience in Tier 1 or 2 construction environments, with the ability to manage project finances from feasibility through to completion.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and cashflow forecasts.
- Lead procurement processes, including subcontractor tendering, negotiation, and contract administration.
- Monitor project costs against budgets, identifying risks and opportunities to maintain financial control.
- Provide accurate progress claims, variations, and final accounts.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to deliver commercially successful outcomes.
- Prepare detailed reports for senior management and clients.
- Ensure compliance with NZS3910 and other relevant construction contracts and standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in cost management systems and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in commercial construction, with a Tier 1 or 2 main contractor in New Zealand.
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand construction contracts and procurement practices.
- Proven track record delivering cost management on commercial building projects ($2M+).
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
