Tractor / Machine Operator - Te Awamutu
Marphona Farms is one New Zealand’s largest Family owned and operated organic dairy farms, our four farms and dry stock span across 2,100 hectares in the North Waikato. We have a wide range of equipment and machinery which we use to do our own bailage and ground work for maize, pea and oats along with our own fertilizing and sub soiling.
We are looking for an OPERATOR who has a wide range of skills. Must be a citizen or permanent resident.You will be a very tidy and well organized person that enjoys working in a team at times but mostly by them selves.
The Workshop is very well set up with everything that is needed, you will enjoy working in a clean tidy work space, we work on a place for everything and everything in its place. You will coordinate the servicing of all tractors ( 12 ) motor bikes (25 ) with the farm managers and service agents.
You will know how and enjoy the grease gun. Able to weld would be great and be mechanically minded enough that you can solve and carry out repairs.
We try to do as much as possible ourselves but know when to call the contractor.
Ground work for maize, reshaping of paddocks, direct drilling, mulching paddocks and under fences. Spreading fertWe try to bale as many as we can with our own gear ( 5000 bales ) and use contractors for bulk silage.
You wont mind jumping in and helping where a hand is needed in the yards, driving a line of posts. Driving a digger or truck for a day or two. Feeding out for dairy farms when they need a hand.
We need a good all rounder who looks after gear as if it was his own.
Our gear is not the most up to date but we have everything we need and everything works ACC etc. We don't and wont use unsafe gear.
Great location 20 minutes to the Firth for fishing, 15 mins form Pokeno for supermarket , Primary school 3km away. One hour down town Auckland
