About the Role:

Our Hamilton plant based in Pukete has been making Melteca board for over 40 years and you'll find Melteca in your home, schools, hospitals, retirement villages, and commercial buildings. As a Machine Operator, you will play a vital role in our safety-driven production environment as you gain experience, you'll take on responsibilities of setting machine parameters, monitoring system performance, making real-time adjustments via digital control panels and switches, operating forklifts, quality control and troubleshooting to ensure safe, smooth, and efficient production.

This role has rotating shifts: 4 days on and 4 days off - 2 days, 2 nights (42-hour week).

To succeed in this position, you should have:

  • A minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proven ability to operate both industrial machinery and forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and a solid commitment to maintaining quality standards in a safe work environment.
  • Physically fit, and occasional shared lifting of up to 25 kg, and comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Quick to learn new processes, with strong technical aptitude and the ability to apply knowledge in a practical, hands-on setting.
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
  • Basic computer literacy, with the ability to navigate digital control systems.
  • Preferred Class 1 Full Drivers Licence, and OSH Forklift Licence (advantageous).
