General duties and responsibilitiesMeet and greet visitors in a warm and welcoming manner - great customer service
Demonstrate exemplary menu & product knowledge, with an ability to advise customers on what to buy
Promote Shelly Bay Baker products through a good understanding of what each product tastes like, the application it’s best suited to (fresh, frozen or toasted), production processes and ingredients.
Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products
Taking orders while paying attention to details (milk type/coffee type)
Efficiently prepare a range of non-alcoholic beverages including coffee, tea, juice ensuring a consistently high quality of beverageClear tables as necessary and do dishes as required.
Record all sales in the POS system and do cash up at the end of the day
Keep an eye on the inbox monitoring emails from customers, wholesalers and click & collect orders that need to be entered by 12 noon.
Answering the phone (always prioritize face to face customers)Data entry of inventory items purchased from suppliers.
Assists maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/station on a daily basis.
Cleaning as required.
Specific duties and responsibilities
Café floor coverage as required for optimal business continuity, i.e., Barista, FOH, dishes, café setup/close downFloor Supervisory duties to oversee café employees and high levels of customer service
Provide ongoing training to all café employees with support of management
Address all staffing concerns and partner with management and HR to ensure solutions/resolutions are obtained
Ensure stock levels are maintained and training is provided to other employees to ensure there is no break in supplies
Ensure Health and Safety standards are being meet in all areas of the café.
Complete all cash handling procedures are being met on a daily/weekly basis
Other duties as assigned
