Step into a unique dual role supporting both our iconic Te Aroha Mineral Spa and our dynamic district-wide Events team. You’ll help deliver exceptional customer experiences — whether you’re welcoming guests to our historic mineral spas or supporting events across Matamata-Piako, from community celebrations to corporate functions.
This is a casual role, working as and when required, requiring someone who is flexible, adaptable, and confident jumping into a variety of tasks as needed. Your priority role will be working at the Te Aroha Mineral Spa, with opportunities to assist in the events space when your availability allows.
You will report to the Te Aroha Mineral Spa Facility Manager, joining a supportive team passionate about creating memorable experiences.
Casual Spa Customer Experience (Priority Role)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring every guest feels welcomed and supported throughout their visit
- Manage customer bookings and customer enquiries in a professional manner
- Service and reset spa rooms between clients, maintaining a clean and pristine facility at all times
- Perform daily preparation facility clean and end-of-day shutdown duties
- Operate the POS system for customer booking transactions and retail sales
- Share the history and benefits of the Te Aroha Mineral Spa to enhance the customer experience
Casual Events Support
Key Responsibilities:
- Venue preparation, including physically setting up venues for events
- Conducting site inductions
- Health & safety support
- Delivering outstanding customer experiences
- Working collaboratively with the community and team
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, welcoming attitude
- Confidence engaging with the public and representing Council facilities
- Comfortable with hands-on and physically demanding duties
- Flexible availability, including evenings or weekends as required for a casual, on-call position
- Ability to work both as part of a supportive team and independently
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
