The Finance business unit has overarching responsibility for the functional areas that contribute to our greatest areas of expenditure such as our fleet, property and ICT vendor management.Our payroll and HR systems are overseen by the Financial Accounting team, providing greater structure and oversight of our payroll processes and assurance of data integrity and consistency across our finance and people systems.About the role / Ō te tūrangaThe Senior Systems Accountant plays a pivotal role within the Finance team, leading the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the organisation's financial systems.

This role is responsible for ensuring that systems are fit for purpose, well-integrated, and effectively support strong financial management and informed decision-making across WorkSafe New Zealand.With expertise in financial systems, particularly TechnologyOne, you will proactively identify and implement system improvements, manage key components such as the chart of accounts and delegations, and ensure compliance with legislative and accounting standards.The role also provides leadership on key financial deliverables, oversees process improvements.

It involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, requiring strong analytical, consulting, and influencing skills, alongside a commitment to continuous improvement.

What You'll Do/ Ko tōu ake mahi Assess, implement, and maintain efficient financial system solutions, ensuring integration, data integrity, and strong system controls.Develop tools and system enhancements that support robust financial management and decision-making.Create and enforce financial policies and procedures aligned with legislation, accounting standards, and best practices.Deliver training tools and user support for financial systems and manage user access and system administration.Manage vendor relationships, lead financial system projects, and ensure effective integration with other enterprise systems.

What You'll Bring / Ko ngā pukenga ōu Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience with strong knowledge across accounting and financial disciplines.Proven skills in financial systems, particularly TechnologyOne, with the ability to assess needs and implement effective solutions.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to support sound financial outcomes.Strong service mindset with a consulting approach, and the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders effectively.Experience fostering continuous improvement and a solid understanding of government processes and procedures.

Note: KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contribution is additional to/on top of your base salary.
