Class 5 Truck & Trailer Driver – Heavy Machinery (Auckland)

Full-time | Auckland-based | Monday–Friday | Long-term stable role

Are you an experienced Class 5 driver who knows how to transport heavy machinery safely and independently?

We’re looking for a confident truck and trailer operator to move heavy machinery up to 30 tonnes around Auckland and nearby areas using a 2R8 low loader.

You’ll be part of a supportive, dedicated team operating well-maintained trucks and simple app-based systems.

This is a full-time, long-term role for a driver with the real-world experience to handle heavy gear without supervision. The unit will be based in Drury, South Auckland, and must be maintained to a high standard at all times. There is zero tolerance for negligence.

• The Role
• Operating our flagship Kenworth T904 with a 2R8 low loader.
• Transporting heavy construction and civil machinery (up to 30 tonne).
• Loading and unloading without supervision
• Restrain loads as per the guidelines set out by NZTA.
• Early starts and late finishes with the occasional weekend if needed.
• Following Overdimension and Overweight permit conditions.
• Using MyTrucking for job dispatch, EROAD for pre-starts, and Deputy for Timesheets.
• Working independently and keeping your unit tidy and compliant.
• Representing Priority Haulage professionally on-site and on the road.
• What You Need
• Full NZ Class 5 licence.
• 2+ years' experience driving truck & trailer (heavy haulage preferred).
• Skilled at reversing, load restraint, and securing heavy machinery.
• Confident using 18-speed Road Ranger gearbox.
• Good knowledge of NZTA compliance and OD/HPMV routes.
• Fit, dependable, and a clear communicator.
• Able to pass a drug test and licence check.
• Does not have outside-of-work commitments that will affect availability or ability to meet work requirements.
• Nice to Have
• WTR and/or forklift licence.
• Must hold BESS licence certification.
• Experience winching machinery.
• Strong familiarity with Auckland’s heavy vehicle routes.
