Then we want to hear from you! We are looking for a full-time heavy diesel mechanic who has a great track record in maintaining, overhauling and repairing large trucks!

ABOUT THE ROLE...

We have a great team and consider attitude and cultural fit to be key elements in defining and identifying the right candidate for this role. The day-to-day duties in this role will require you to:

  • Maintain work area and equipment in tidy and safe condition.
  • Draw materials from stock and ensure all parts and labour are booked to the job as appropriate
  • Servising and repairs to units.
  • General hydraulic repairs.
  • Assemble and fit components where required.
  • Electrical and electronic trouble shooting and problem resolution.
  • Fitting of units to vehicles and commissioning.
  • Annual certification of units.
  • Technical repairs including ECU fault diagnostics, remote control repairs etc.
  • Ensure safe operation of all equipment in work area by self or others.
  • Ensure safety of self and colleagues at all times.
  • Review and advise on engineering requirements and drawings.
  • Effective communication – keeping management and relevant parties aware and seeking advice and assistance when required.
  • Any other duty as may be required commensurate with the grading of the post and the skill of the post holder.
ABOUT YOU...
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a heavy diesel mechanic or similar.
  • Formal trade qualification.
  • Excellent decision-making skills.
  • Good knowledge of general motor/diesel mechanics, mechanical fitting, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative and with low level supervision.
  • Experience working on flammable liquids or gases tank wagons would be considered advantageous.
  • HGV Truck and Trailer driver’s license (Class 5) and DG endorsement would be considered advantageous however this is NOT a driving role.
