We’re looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a busy team in Christchurch. You'll be working with a wide range of earthmoving machinery and attachments in a well-equipped workshop alongside a supportive team.This role offers flexibility with hours – ideal for someone after either full-time or part-time work. The business operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
About the Role:You’ll be working on a broad range of machines including diggers, bulldozers, loaders, graders and more. No two days are the same, and you'll be supported by experienced staff and quality gear.
Work will include:- Diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a variety of heavy machinery
- Troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues
- Prepping machines for hire, including pre-delivery inspections and setting up attachments
- General maintenance and fleet upkeep
- Working closely with another mechanic and the wider team
- Mechanical experience with heavy machinery, trucks, or similar
- Strong fault-finding and repair skills – trade qualifications are great but not essential
- Class 1 licence required (Class 2–5 and WTR an advantage)
- Good communicator, self-motivated, and reliable
- Solid time management and teamwork skills
- A hands-on, varied role with no two days the same
- Flexible working hours – full-time or part-time
- Pay based on experience
