Senior Restaurant Manager
Full-Time | Minimum 30 hours per week | Minimum 5 days per week | Weekends involved | Permanent Position
A brand-new Modern Thai restaurant is opening in the heart of Martinborough, and we’re looking for a passionate, Restaurant Manager to help bring it to life.This is a rare opportunity to join a launch team and shape a fresh dining experience centred around vibrant Thai flavours, exceptional service, and a modern, energetic atmosphere.
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee all restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
Plan, organise, direct, and control all restaurant operationsPlanning menus in consultation with Chefs
Monitor financial performance including budgeting, cost control, and revenue growth
Arranging the purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget
Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions
Lead, train, and supervise front-of-house and kitchen staff
Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer service
Conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service
Develop and implement operational procedures and service standards
Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally
Manage staff rosters, recruitment, and performance reviews
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and licensing laws
Requirements: At least 3 years of relevant experience in restaurant management
Strong appreciation and understanding of Thai cuisine, ingredients, and flavour balance, or a demonstrated ability to quickly develop this knowledgeStrong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Solid understanding of restaurant financials and cost control
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Relevant qualification in hospitality management (preferred but not essential)
Desirable
Experience in a modern Thai or high-volume dining environment
Exposure to new restaurant openings or concept launches
Experience working with Thai or Southeast Asian cuisine
Ability to confidently speak to dishes and guide guests through the menu
Respect for Thai food culture and the ability to work collaboratively with a Thai-led kitchen
