Join the JC Installs Team: Auto Electrician / Car Audio Technician
JC Installs is seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join our team. As Christchurch's local leaders in vehicle installations and accessories, we specialize in high-end car audio system design and installation. Our work is highly diverse and fast-paced, and we rely on a small, collaborative team to get the job done.
This new position is four days a week, 38 hours Monday to Thursday, with flexibility to cover Friday and Saturday where needed.
**Key Responsibilities**
Your role will be hands-on technical work and essential client interaction:
**Technical Installation & Diagnostics:**- Perform and expand our existing installation services.
- Be instrumental in growing our offerings into advanced electrical system diagnosis and fault-finding.
- Execute diverse installations, including reverse cameras, car audio systems, radar detectors, and vehicle computer system integrations.
- Work on a variety of vehicles, including cars, boats, and motorhomes—no two days are the same.
- Manage relevant email correspondence and answer phone calls.
- Consult with current and potential clients in-store regarding products and services.
**What You Bring to the Role**
**Essential Skills & Experience:**- 5+ years of proven experience as an Auto Electrical Technician.
- Extensive knowledge of modern vehicle electrical systems and diagnostics.
- Demonstrated expertise in efficient problem-solving for complex electrical issues.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in vehicle disassembly and reassembly without causing damage.
- Knowledge of car audio systems and leading industry brands is advantageous.
- Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
- Reliable, honest, and genuinely team-focused.
- Highly customer-focused with excellent communication skills for both colleagues and clients.
- Proficient with computer systems for diagnostics and administrative tasks.
- Committed to maintaining a clean and tidy workspace.
