A locally-owned, leading manufacturer based in Christchurch. They are seeking skilled and experienced Workshop Fitter for permanent roles based at the modern, industry-leading site. We are looking for suitable applicants to work for the fantastic company.

About the role:

• Working in a well-known, supportive and reputable business
• Full time, permanent work with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week normally worked from Monday to Friday.
• Hourly pay rate from $38.00 to $42.00
• Overtime may be available

What you need to be successful in this role:

• Excellent welding skills
• Able to use a lathe, mill, press and any other equipment in a fitter workshop
• You must be reliable and capable of working within a team and independently.
• Good working knowledge of industrial machinery, CAD, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems an advantage
• You'll have an understanding of Health and Safety regulations and comply with safety policies and procedures.
• You will be willing to work across different shifts when required

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• To assemble and manufacture state of the art moulds and accessories required for the manufacture of concrete products for the factories
• Building solutions to engineering problems for the company’s manufacturing sites.
• Exploring better ways to achieve the same goals · Continuously improving systems and being innovative.
• Certified welder proficient with Arc, MIG, TIG and SS welding
• Use the lathe, milling machine, press and workshop equipment.
• Strategic based maintenance and breakdown minimisation
• Spares stock control
• Practice good housekeeping and apply 5S principles
