We , Kawakawa sushi Limited in Kerikeri are looking for experienced Cook for our busy business environment.
This is a full-time, permanent position (part-time can also be considered upon request by a successful applicant) with guaranteed weekly working hours of 30 hours, Monday to Sunday. We will be offering a competitive hourly rate, calculated based on your experiences and skills.
Cook should have previous relevant experience within a similarly fast paced food industry of the highest quality for at least 2 years ( including trainee experience).
As a COOK, you will closely work with our CHEFS and meet food and hygiene standards and other regulations associated with keeping the workplace safe. COOK candidates should have prior kitchen experience from Asian cuisine restaurants for at least 2 years.We will be offering a competitive hourly rate, which will be between $28.00 and $35, calculated based on your experiences and skills.
In this role, your key responsibilities and duties include:
- Providing the guests with the highest quality of food and standard of services. -Knowing the proper methods of cutting fish, meat, and vegetables.
- Preparing stocks, soups, and sauces.
- Properly cooking rice.
- Selecting fresh and superior ingredients.
- Checking the quality of raw and cooked products.
- Preparing food items while ensuring the right quantity and full adherence to recipe and standards in food quality.
- Ensuring all foods are stored properly in temperature controlled equipment.
To be successful in this role, you will need to: -Have in-depth knowledge in a variety of Asian food and beverage cultures.
- Know ingredients for Asian food preparation.
- Keep up with the latest trends and assist CHEFS in developing new/seasonal menus.
