Skilled Chinese/Asian Cuisine Cook Wanted

Hourly Rate: $25.00–$30.00 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)

Canton Restaurant And Takeawaysis seeking a skilled and reliable Chinese/Asian Cuisine Cook to join our busy takeaway team. This role is ideal for someone experienced in fast-paced kitchen environments, particularly in preparing Chinese and Asian-style fast food dishes using traditional wok techniques.

• Prepare and cook a range of Chinese and Asian fast food dishes to ensure consistent quality and taste.
• Operate a wok confidently at high heat to deliver authentic flavours and proper cooking techniques.
• Follow established recipes and portion control guidelines to maintain efficiency and consistency.
• Assist with menu planning and contribute ideas using seasonal and fresh ingredients when appropriate.
• Set up and organise cooking stations before service.
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Monitor stock levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies and ensure timely replenishment.
• Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely order completion.
• Comply with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, particularly the wok station, on a regular basis.

• At least one year of proven experience as a Cook specialising in Chinese or Asian fast food, with strong wok cooking skills.
• Good knowledge of Asian cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavour profiles.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
