The Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our small, close-knit team in Dunedin. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same – you’ll help customers discover the right bed or mattress for their needs, provide genuine recommendations, process sales, and assist with store presentation.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver outstanding customer service with a genuine, helpful approach
- Engage with a diverse range of customers and enjoy building quick, positive connections
- Demonstrate and explain products confidently
- Multi-task between serving customers, answering queries, maintaining showroom displays, and handling sales transactions
- Assist with light store duties and occasional physical tasks
- A true customer-centric mindset – you love helping people and take pride in great service
- Strong ability to multi-task in a busy retail environment
- Availability for weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday work is essential)
- Physically fit and strong – comfortable lifting, moving, and positioning beds, mattresses, and bases (this is a key part of the role)
- Ability to work well in a small team – supportive, reliable, and a team player
- Enjoy the variety and energy of interacting with different customers every day
- Previous retail or sales experience is advantageous but not essential – enthusiasm and the right attitude are key!
