The role
This role has great hours working Monday to Friday, reporting to the Workshop Manager, you’ll be involved in a wide range of fabrication work, primarily stainless steel, with mild steel experience highly valued. You’ll work both in the workshop and on-site as required, delivering projects to spec and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include:- Fabricating and assembling stainless steel components to drawings and specifications
- TIG welding stainless steel (high standard of finish expected)
- Mild steel fabrication and welding (MIG/arc) — preferred
- Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings
- Ensuring finished work meets quality standards and customer expectations
- Managing your time well to meet deadlines while maintaining safety and quality
- Working with customers and other trades professionally when on-site
- Supervising, supporting and mentoring others in the workshop when required
You’re a practical, capable fabricator who takes pride in tidy, accurate work and enjoys being part of a solid team.
Ideally you’ll have:- Proven experience as a stainless steel fabricator / sheet metal engineer
- Strong TIG skills on stainless steel
- Mild steel fabrication experience (highly desirable)
- Confidence reading and working from fabrication drawings
- Great attention to detail and a quality-first mindset
- A reliable, positive attitude and good communication
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A commitment to safe work practices
