As the statutory auditor of all public organisations, from Government Departments and Councils trough to state owned enterprises and schools, the Auditor-General's work plays a major part in ensuring that our public sector delivers value and tangible outcomes.We're looking for a Director, Strategic Communications and Impact to join our Strategy and Communications Group.

You'll be leading the implementation and ongoing management of an office-wide communications and engagement strategy, as well as supporting plans to increase the reach and positive impact of our work.
This is an important leadership role where you'll shape how we communicate our work and make a difference for New Zealanders.In this role, you'll:lead the evolution and implementation of our communications and engagement strategy;provide high-quality advice on matters relating to positioning, brand, media and social media, key relationships, and strategic communications for the Office;oversee the Office's media engagement; andprovide leadership, direction, and oversight of the Strategic Communications and Impact team.We're looking for someone with:proven experience in leading, developing, and implementing strategies to position an organisation for greater influence and impact;exceptional communication skills and demonstrated credibility to influence internally and externally;strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide clear direction, sound guidance and advice;excellent people management skills, with proven success in leadership, coaching, and driving professional development; anda clear understanding of the nature and role of the Office of the Auditor-General.A tertiary qualification, ideally with a focus on strategy, public policy, administration, or communications is also desirable.We offer our staffOngoing learning and professional development opportunities.Supportive hybrid working arrangements (flexible hours/days).Health and well-being benefits.A unique operating environment with Parliament.Read more
