Cafe Chef
You will be in tune and on trend with what people want to eat. You will be a critical part of a smooth running busy kitchen. We offer a cafe style menu by day (breakfast/lunch) and with 1 or 2 evenings per week possible . You will be joining a small and highly engaged team, so it’s important you are a team player and are willing to pitch in when required.
You will be paid well for your work and you will be no stranger to working early mornings, weekends and public holidays. Your week will be 40-45 hours on average over 5 days and more in the summer should you need it. We have a really fun crew and enjoy making our work place a great place to be!
Skills & experience:
Proven experience as a Cafe Chef and/or Baker
Strong communication and organisational skills. Ability to help create exceptional menus from local, seasonal and high-quality products.
You are reliable and bring with you advanced culinary skills, creativity, a hard-working attitude and impeccable attention to detail. You will have an authentic passion for food and take pride in everything that goes out of your kitchen.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and have a results-driven attitude as well as demonstrating the following:
- Prior experience as a Cafe Chef and/or Baker, working in a similar role in a complex and fast-paced environment.
- Relevant tertiary or culinary qualifications are desirable but experience trumps all.
- Proven track record being part of a high performing team, to prep, cook, and plate food to an industry leading standard.
- Creativity - ability to suggest, plan and implement changes to assist in taking our current food offering to the next level.
- Genuine and great customer service skills.
